TOFU Registry Presents Baseline Data and Network Milestones at ARVO 2025

The TOFU Registry (Treatment Exit Options for Non-Infectious Uveitis) participated in the 2025 Annual Meeting of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) in Salt Lake City, Utah. As the world’s largest and most prestigious conference for vision research, ARVO brings together thousands of international scientists, clinicians, and eye care experts to discuss breakthroughs in ophthalmology.

Non-infectious uveitis is a severe inflammatory eye disease and a leading cause of preventable visual impairment in working-age adults. While clinical guidelines clearly define when to initiate immunosuppressive therapy, there is a critical lack of evidence regarding when and how treatment can be safely tapered or discontinued. The prospective, multi-center TOFU Registry was established to bridge this evidence gap, protecting patients from medication side effects while preserving their visual function.

At ARVO 2025, our team presented a scientific poster highlighting the registry’s multi-center expansion and baseline patient characteristics. The presentation showcased real-world clinical data from nearly 1,000 prospectively documented patients across participating European centers. Our analysis emphasized baseline treatment patterns, disease distribution (such as intermediate, posterior, and panuveitis), and visual acuity outcomes. By demonstrating the diversity of real-world management, our presentation underscored the necessity of standardized, evidence-based treatment exit strategies in clinical practice.
